Preston Brook
No trace remains of the small station at Preston Brook, which closed to passengers in 1948 and to goods ten years later. However, just behind the trees on the left Station House is still in residential use but hidden from the line. 60056 passes through the site of the platforms with a loaded biomass train from Liverpool to Drax on 10th May 2023. This will follow the WCML to Hartford before taking the spur onto the line to Altrincham and Stockport on its way to the Calder Valley route but avoiding Platting Bank in Manchester.
