Manchester Victoria
Two TPE 185s leave Manchester Victoria with a Saltburn service on 15th March 2023, and immediately illustrate why eastbound freights are diverted away from this station. The 1:47/59 climb to Miles Platting starts immediately at the east end of Victoria's main platforms. These Saltburn services usually run over the Standedge route but were diverted via the Calder Valley for several weeks in March/April for engineering upgrades.
