Brighouse Basins

Changeline bridges, which allowed the horse to cross the canal without unhitching the rope, usually have a straight ramp on one side and the curved path on the other. Perhaps because it sits by the entrance to the upper basin, this bridge at Brighouse has both ramps on both sides. This view looks east on 15th February 2023.
