Deptford Creek Lifting Bridge

Deptford Creek Lifting Bridge, just a little to the west of Greenwich main line and DLR stations, seen from above on 26 January 2023. The line opened in 1836 and this bridge, dating from 1963, replaced an earlier structure and allowed high vessels to pass upstream. This third bridge on the site was welded shut around 2000 and is now a listed structure. A Lewisham branch (opened on 20 November 1999) DLR train passes beyond.
