Bowling Harbour

Bowling Harbour, seen from the west, showing the wreck of the MV Sulby River and other hulks on 18 October 2022. The western breakwater, planned in 1846, was completed in 1856 by the Clyde Navigation Trust, just after Frisky Wharf (out of shot to left) was opened alongside the Bowling station terminus of 1850. Entry to the Forth and Clyde Canal is at the far end of the harbour.
