Gorebridge

The former station building at Gorebridge, photographed looking south in the summer of 2002 The vacated railway premises were used for a time as a pub named 'Porters' (get it?). The low wall in the foreground separated the site from a housing development behind the camera, constructed following closure of the Waverley route. The houses, known as 'Harvieston Villas', were subsequently demolished to make way for the new Borders Railway (see image 14418).
