Outwood Sidings

Outwood Sidings were just to the north of the passenger station at Ringley Road. A signal box of the same name controlled the main line, the sidings and access to the Outwood Colliery. The colliery closed in 1931 but the sidings also served nearby Radcliffe Power Station, which operated until 1959. This January 2023 view looks south along the Outwood Trail that follows the old line from Radcliffe down to Clifton Junction. The colliery access was to the left and the signal box was just behind the camera on the right among the sidings.
