Darcy Lever

The huge girder viaduct at Darcy Lever is an impressive structure and it is difficult to find a vantage point to do it justice. It carried its last trains in 1970 when the Bolton to Rochdale via Bury services ended. The 'cage' on the decking is a more recent addition, installed when the bridge was opened to the public as part of a greenway.
