Barrowford Locks and Reservoir [LLC]
During 2022 the canal reservoir at Barrowford was drained for a substantial repair project. The near drought and this loss of supply meant that the Leeds and Liverpool had to be closed for most of the year. This was the scene in October, looking towards Lock 50 with reservoir work continuing alongside. The five Barrowford locks wind round the reservoir as the canal climbs towards the Pennine crossing.
