Cairnbaan Swing Bridge
The Crinan Canal will be closed until March 2023. Major refurbishment work started in October, including the replacement of several sets of lock gates, and most of the canal has been drained. This is the top pound, just above Cairnbaan Lock 8 on 3rd November 2022, showing one of the feeder streams coming into the emptied canal and going straight through the open lock paddles to drain down towards the east.
