Lochboisdale Pier

'My father G. H. Robin was the book-keeper for the firm Colin McPhail & co, later Hamilton & McPhail from about 1948 to 1963. They operated a coastal fleet of small ships, including the steam puffer 'S.S.Glencloy'. In July 1960 he had a busman's holiday, joining the crew of Glencloy for a voyage from Ardrossan through the Crinan Canal to Mallaig and Lochboisdale returning to Girvan. My father is better known for his collection of railway photographs, now in the ownership of the Mitchell Library in Glasgow, but I recently rediscovered a small collection of colour slides languishing within the private family ones, and hope they are of interest to some Railscot afficianados. This is the Glencloy at Lochboisdale on that trip with some period motor vehicles gathered at the quay.
