Stainton Crossing Bridge [LC]

Bridge 172 at Stainton Crossing represents the present head of the watered section of the Lancaster Canal's 'Northern reaches'. This view looks northwards, and a part towpath, part footpath continues for almost six miles to Kendal itself. Lancaster Canal Trust volunteers are presently restoring the short section of canal between Bridges 172 and 173 so that it will hold water again.
