Adlington Junction
This bridge carries the A6 in Adlington over the route of the old Lancashire Union line, which ran from here to Standish on the WCML. The junction with the surviving Euxton Junction to Bolton line was a hundred yards or so behind the camera. Just beyond the modern brick office block behind the parapet lies the surviving building from White Bear station 76459 and then the largely walkable trackbed continues through Red Rock towards Wigan.
