North Ealing

LUL 1973 stock train, with a Piccadilly Line service to Cockfosters, arriving at North Ealing on 9th February 2019. This station was opened by the Metropolitan District Railway in 1903 and remains substantially as built (see image 80765), being the only one on the South Harrow line not to have been rebuilt by Dr. Charles Holden (1875-1960), the London Underground's Chief Architect between the two world wars, for the takeover by tube trains in 1932. The line did not become known as the Piccadilly Line until 1937 during a general renaming of lines by the LPTB.
