Blackfriars [CCR]

The old entrance to the Charing Cross Railway's Blackfriars station, as restored in 2005, on 16th February 2019. This was opened with the line from London Bridge in 1864 and closed and replaced by Waterloo Junction slightly further west in 1869, which was renamed Waterloo in 1935 and further renamed Waterloo East in 1977. This former Blackfriars station is not to be confused with the ex-LC&DR station that opened as St. Paul's in 1886 and was not renamed Blackfriars until 1937, even though the Metropolitan District Railway station below had opened with that name in 1870.
