Glasgow Central
Not my best shot but this is ill-fated, and here ex-works, 81001 at Glasgow Central in the Summer of 1983. The original E3001 would undoubtedly have been a preservation candidate, but shortly after this image was taken it burnt out while hauling a Motorail near Carstairs and was eventually scrapped at Crewe in 1986. Classmate 81002 (E3003) has been preserved by the AC Locomotive Group.
