Bournemouth Central

A view of the now preserved, but then in a run down condition, former Southern Railway Bulleid designed Merchant Navy 4-6-2 35028 'Clan Line' departing Bournemouth with a service to London Waterloo on the 27 Aug 1965, the twilight period for steam on the Southern. It was withdrawn by BR in July 1967, after 18 years 7 months service. See image 26799 of it, post restoration, whilst hauling a special working at York on 14 October 1978.
