Pointhouse Shipbuilding Yard

MV Tay off the southern end of Inglis's Pointhouse Shipbuilding Yard. To the left is the pedestrian Govan ferry. The River Kelvin is just out of shot to the left. Today this is the site of the Riverside Museum. The Tay was built in 1951 by The Goole Shipbuilding and Repairing Co Ltd. The vessel was probably owned by Sloan William & Co at the time. Later renamed MV Erika she was wrecked off Roumbos Island. The Pointhouse yard was rail served at the west end of lines which ran out from Stobcross.
