Powderhall

Redevelopment continues at Powderhall, as shown in this view north from Broughton Road on 24 February 2022. The original 1893 building (The Destructor) off to the left is being refurbished and modified for future use as 'community and work space' while the remainder of the site is earmarked for housing. The former loading apron built on the site of the old platform runs alongside the overgrown trackbed, with barriers now blocking access to the bridge over the Water of Leith in the right background. For a 2006 view see image 11948.
