Burntisland East Dock

Looking west at Burntisland Dock in 1986 with Bulk handling barge No.5 alongside the unloading crane. The barges were used to tranship bauxite from ocean-going vessels, which would moor out in the Forth estuary. Use of rail for this traffic ceased around 1980 and the track that once ran under the cranes had been cut back to these buffer stops (and was later removed altogether).
