Gillett's Crossing
158869, next stop Squires Gate with a Blackpool South service, passes the site of Gillett's Crossing Halt on 11th January 2022. The ground level timber platform opened in 1913 for a new railmotor service between Lytham and Blackpool. At that time there was just a minor foot crossing of the line, later superseded by the road bridge from which this photo was taken. Burlington Road Halt (now the site of Blackpool Pleasure Beach station) opened at the same time as Gillett's Crossing but both closed in September 1939.
