Cardross

A difficult start to 2022. After the New Year break, 66738 and 73968 pass Cardross on 2 January 2022 whilst working the 0Z11 Craigentinny T&RSMD to Fort William move to get the locos back north to work the southbound sleeper that night. All was not well however as there was a serious banging noise coming from the rear bogie of the 73, resulting in a repeated earth shudder not dis-similar to a pile driver on a building site. To cut a long story short the pair had an extended stay at Craigendoran Jct with a replacement 73 going forward to Fort William with 66738 while 73968 was collected at the end of the day and taken back overnight to Craigentinny.
