Lugton

Bristol railbus SC79958 at Lugton, after arrival on a service from Beith Town. The mildly stylish coachwork design by Eastern Coach Works Ltd was comprehensively outshone, if one may be permitted to say so, by the classic elegance of the lady making her way along the platform. The photograph was taken in the summer of 1962, a few months before passenger services between Lugton and Beith were withdrawn. The two railbuses in this class were introduced in 1958 for the Scottish Region but withdrawn in 1966.
