Edinburgh Princes Street

A Black 5 runs in to Edinburgh Princes St on Saturday 29th February 1964, with a service from Stirling. The photographer recorded that this was the last day of trains between the two stations. [The service is in fact believed to have been the 10.15 am from Stirling, and the locomotive Dalry Road's 44994. The engine that can be seen just at the left hand side of the signal box may well have been 80060, waiting to take over the 11.40 return service to Stirling - see image number 29911]. Services were re-routed to Waverley from Monday 2nd March 1964.
