Alloa

Railfreight, apparently lost in another sense. 66165 cautiously parts greenery as it navigates through lineside overgrowth east of Alloa with coal for Longannet power station on 12th September 2015. Few such trains had used the line that summer, presumably because the power station had been running down the coal stocks prior to its impending closure the next year. Unlike the other materials that used to be carried by rail, there are few who now mourn the passing of this type of load, even though it fuelled the development of our national railway system in the first place.
