Bassenthwaite Lake

This representation of a French 4-8-2 (241) locomotive, and three dining coaches, were specially constructed for Kenneth Branagh's film of 'Murder on the Orient Express'. After shooting ended they were disposed of and now sit in the reconstructed Bassenthwaite Lake station as the popular Orient Express cafe and special events venue. This view towards Keswick in December 2021. The life, death and rebirth of Bassenthwaite Lake is fully covered on the Disused Stations website.
