Airolo
Swiss Ae 6/6 electric 11460 Lugano completes the climb of the southern ramp of the Gotthard route as it passes through Airolo on 3rd August 1966 with a northbound freight. In view also is Ae 3/5 10223, of much earlier vintage, with one of the car shuttle trains which at that time went back and forth through the Gotthard tunnel, to enable cars (and caravans by the look of it) to avoid the drive over the Gotthard pass.
