Woodacre Crossing
Despite the well reported shift from electric locos to diesels on freight trains in October 2021, West Coast Railways continued to use its sole AC loco 86401 'Mons Meg' on occasional excursion duties. Here the loco, still carrying Caledonian Sleeper logos, runs light from Carnforth to Preston at Woodacre to take over from 60163 'Tornado' and run to Crewe before returning with the ECS to Carnforth. Earlier in the day it had brought the train north from Crewe.
