Tarbolton

Telephoto view of the 'Galloway Fifties' railtour, hauled by 50034 and 50049, approaching Tarbolton station between Mauchline and Annbank. The station itself was about a mile and a half from the village it served and closed to passengers on 4th January 1943. The line was once double track but is now single and sees very little traffic. The station building on the eastbound side survives as a butcher's shop according to the sign at the entrance.
