Glasgow Central

86248 'Sir Clwyd - County of Clwyd' received a new pantograph at overhaul in the mid 1980s and was one of a few 86/2s uprated to run at 110mph like their class 87 cousins. (The repainted 'Caledonian' was another). I saw 86248 in the parcels bay platform at Glasgow Central (swept away to create the Glasgow Airport rail link platforms) earlier in the 1980s with a traditional double scissors one.
