An announcement on LBC Radio on 7th June 2021 informed listeners that the Waterloo & City Line would reopen that day, having closed with the first covid lockdown in March 2020. What LBC did NOT say is that it would only be open in peak hours as I found out when I was confronted by gates and this notice at Waterloo. With time to kill before the beginning of the evening peak at 15.23, I had a short trip to Wandsworth Town and back, from the former Waterloo International Eurostar terminus, now reopened as platforms 20 to 24 of the National Rail Waterloo station.
