Annan

Looking north west from St Johns Road, Annan in 2002, over a railway scene much changed in the previous 25 years. What were substantial goods facilities on both sides of the line here have gone, with the old down yard currently a wasteland, save for a siding terminating at a point where a footpath now gives access to the northbound platform. Beyond the main station building the former up yard is now occupied by commercial premises including a Royal Mail delivery office. The original building that once stood on the down platform has given way to a modern shelter. Annan signal box survives in the background. For the same view in 1955 see image 31280.
