Lady Victoria Colliery

Standing alongside the junction of Main Street Newtongrange and the A7, looking south on 9 May 2021. The location of the western abutment of the old railway bridge via which coal was brought into the north end of Lady Victoria is clearly visible. The wide bridge carried both the standard gauge mineral line and the narrow gauge Easthouses Tramway. The elevated walkway connection with the 1954 NCB pithead baths is visible in the left background beyond the sign indicating the entance to the National Mining Museum.
