High Street Kensington

Entrance to High Street Kensington station on 21st March 2021. Passengers pass through a delightful arcade of shops before actually arriving at the ticket hall. This station was opened by the Metropolitan Railway from Praed Street junction, west of Edgware Road to South Kensington, on 1st October 1868 but for very many decades now has been served by the Circle Line and the Edgware Road to Wimbledon stretch of the District Line. The Metropolitan District Railway, a separate concern, made an end-on junction with this line at South Kensington.
