Whitehouse North Junction

A short section of the old Lancaster Canal tramroad affords access to several properties, in addition to its primary role as a footpath and cycleway. The formal title of 'Old Tram Road' is a nice touch although it was actually a plateway, with flanged rails and plain wheels on the horse drawn wagons. This view is towards Preston from Walton Park on 29th December 2020 and just out of view the tramroad drops down quite steeply towards the River Ribble flood plain.
