Polton

The site of Polton station in 1997 in a view looking north east over the site, now occupied by houses. The route of the goods line to Springfield Paper Mills survived as a dirt path. This siding side-stepped the station, passing round the rear of the platform and station building. It was off to the left between the River North Esk and the houses. Several sleepers survive in place.
