Dunblane

A railway traffic jam in and around Dunblane station on a Saturday morning in early May 1989. However, relief is in sight as 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' propels its rake of Mk 2 stock out of the platform on a late running Dyce to Glasgow Queen Street service. Held up are a Class 37 towing a Class 26, a 107 DMU under the footbridge and a collision damaged Derby DMU salvaged from another region waiting to cross from the down to the up line. Most of the rolling stock on view is on prolonged notice of withdrawal pending late delivery of a new generation of DMUs, which probably explains the generally poor state of repair and maintenance.
