Duddingston
A cold, grey winter morning on Edinburgh's south sub in December 2019. Engineering works at Haymarket West had resulted in numerous diversions over the Christmas period, including this CrossCountry Voyager on its way from Aberdeen to Penzance. The train has just passed below the bridge carrying Peffermill Road and will reach Waverley via Niddrie West and Portobello East Junctions. At 722 miles this is the UKs longest scheduled end-to-end train journey... although on this occasion it would have been slightly longer!
