Parkhead North Goods

View south west along what was once Lightburn Road in Glasgow's Parkhead district in April 2009, showing the bridge that carried the CGU route between Parkhead and Haghill Junctions. The line closed in 1981 and, following various changes to the surrounding infrastructure over the years, the bridge now stands in splendid isolation spanning what has become a public footpath providing a shortcut between two major roads. The pedestrian walking towards the camera is approaching from the direction of Duke Street (and The Forge Shopping Centre) heading for Carntyne Road. For the view from the other side of the bridge see 23191.
