Restalrig Goods

Victorian confidence. It is impossible to imagine a prefabricated bridge today carrying any sort of provenance, let alone one as detailed as this. The bridge carries Lochend Road over the Leith New Lines at the point where the Restalrig Goods branch diverged. Although called a Goods station it actually just served a saw mill. The New Lines in turn went over the NB's Leith Central branch. Old photos of this area seem sadly lacking. Photographed incidental to my daily exercise permitted under emergency coronavirus legislation.
