Portobello East Junction
A class 305 EMU brings a North Berwick - Edinburgh service west through Portobello in May 1996. Built at Doncaster in 1960, a batch of 5 of these units (previously employed on services operating out of Liverpool Street and Fenchurch Street) was assigned to the newly electrified North Berwick branch in 1991. The last of the batch was withdrawn in January 2002 after class 322s had taken over operations. Note the 'Overhead Line Maintenance Train' on the left - a resident here for many years see image 65917.
