Knightsbridge

'There's been an incident.' The official statement from police and LU staff at the Hans Crescent entrance to Knightsbridge tube station on the afternoon of 21 July 2005, having arrived there just in time to see the retractable barrier tape being stretched across the entrance. As became apparent later that day there had in fact been 4 incidents, all bombing attempts. These occurred during the space of 19 minutes on trains at Shepherd's Bush, Oval and Warren Street, with a slightly later attack on a no 26 bus in Bethnal Green. Fortunately, in all 4 cases, only the detonators fired, with the bombs themselves failing to explode.
