West Hampstead

West Hampstead station, LUL Jubilee Line, looking north with a train of 1996 stock on a service to Stanmore on the left, on 5th October 2019. This station was opened by the Metropolitan Extension Railway in 1879 and rebuilt in 1939 for the transfer of services to the Bakerloo Line which were subsequently transferred to the Jubilee Line in 1979. Metropolitan Line trains run fast between Finchley Road and Wembley Park, passing West Hampstead while on the south-west side of the station, adjacent to the down Metropolitan track are the up and down tracks for Chiltern Line services to and from London Marylebone which likewise do not stop here.
