Whitehouse West Junction

Looking east towards Whitehouse West Junction in December 2019, at the point where the trackbed of the old Southport line passes under the WCML to the south of Preston. Preston and Southport trains were steam powered to the end and the line closed completely in 1964 but here, in the shadow of Pendolinos, electro diesels and new CAF trains, an old telegraph pole still stands firm on the embankment.
