One of the interesting new possibilities created by Central Belt electrification is this route, the fifth connecting Edinburgh and Glasgow within Scotland, even if it does terminate at a suburban station. Can one imagine a time when trains from Glasgow Queen Street terminate at Newington or Morningside Road....
