Crinan Basin

TSS Linnet is seen shortly after leaving Crinan Basin heading to Ardrishaig. She was a dedicated vessel for the Crinan Canal section of the 'Royal Route' connecting with seagoing steamers at either end. The Linnet was built in 1866 and withdrawn in 1929. In the background is a canal overflow, crossed by a towpath bridge.
