Houndwood Siding

A Class 47-hauled test train passes the site of Houndwood Siding travelling south east on the ECML in 1993. The siding, sited on level ground just below the road barrier, was used as a gravel ballast storage siding in the 1850s-perhaps the first virtual quarry? see 75407 In normal use the siding was also used as a public goods station.
