Orwell
Orwell was an intermediate station between Derby Road and Trimley but it closed in 1959 to allow faster Felixstowe services when DMUs were introduced. Near the station site is Levington Lane level crossing, where 170272 is seen heading from Ipswich with a service to the branch terminus on 31st July 2019. Work is presently taking place to extend double track from Trimley to this location, to increase freight capacity on the branch.
