Meridian Water

After three aborted opening dates, 19th May, 23rd May and 28th May, the new Lea Valley Line station at Meridian Water finally opened on Monday, 3rd June 2019. This replaces Angel Road station which had served the area since 1840, first under the name Edmonton, then later Water Lane before becoming Angel Road. This view shows 317885 with 317814 from Stratford to Bishop's Stortford departing from London's newest station at 10.17 on the opening day and about to pass the now closed platforms of Angel Road station, beyond the North Circular Road viaduct in the background and from which running-in boards and waiting shelters have already been removed.
