James Watt Dock

James Watt Dock, in 1992, after closure of the United Molasses depot. The line on the left dropped down from Ladyburn Junction to reach a reversing spur behind the camera before continuing on the right line to the depot itself (this formerly continued to the quayside at the dock). The view is to the west. Gravity shunting was used to allow the locomotive to round the wagons for departing trains.
